Color revolution

Today I was cashiering at my beloved co-op
and one of my gentleman customers was wearing a seersucker suit, a pink gingham shirt and some sort of green tie. It was shockingly fabulous. Of course I had to say something and this is how it went. We are now comrades.

MOI: That is a fantastic outfit, by the way.

GENTLEMAN CUSTOMER: Thank you!

MOI: So many people are afraid of color. It's so sad.

GENTLEMAN CUSTOMER: I know! I was eavesdropping in a restaurant once, I mean-- you know how that goes. And I overheard someone saying, "Oh those queens never use any color." You know, because we all have white apartments or whatever.

MOI: Sure, sure.

GENTLEMAN CUSTOMER: I'm showing THEM!

MOI: You're starting a color revolution! I am too. You know, last week I wore pink and red together.

GENTLEMAN CUSTOMER: Now, that is very bold. Very wonderful.
